"Housing is being driven by politics in British Columbia and the situation is being made worse by the unstable political situation," said Casey Edge, executive director of the Canadian Homebuilders Association in Victoria. "B.C. is unique in the sense that the province is hesitant to interfere with community charters, so there is a constant theme of municipalities adding new requirements to developments — which to builders is cost."
